Hallux valgus is a foot condition in which the big toe bends severely toward the second toe, causing the big toe joint to protrude inward. This prevents the big toe, which provides support and propulsion during walking, from performing its proper function. Furthermore, when standing or walking, the protruding joint, called a bunion, rubs against shoes, causing inflammation and pain. Furthermore, as the toes bend, the space between them disappears, and they come into contact with each other, making them highly susceptible to skin conditions such as athlete's foot and eczema.
This hallux valgus is usually divided into four stages depending on the angle of the joint bend, and if it progresses to a severe stage of stage 3 or higher, surgical treatment is required, so conservative treatment such as improving lifestyle habits or wearing assistive devices in the early stages is very important, and accordingly, various assistive devices and corrective devices for hallux valgus have been developed and are being sold on the market.
These assistive devices and corrective devices are made of elastic material and are worn around the toes or the outside. They are manufactured to consistently meet specific standards, so the force and effect applied to each user are different, and they do not respond to the various sizes and shapes of the user's feet, which is inconvenient.
In addition, since it is worn on the feet, which are vulnerable to bacterial growth, and is worn directly on the skin, even if the material is made moisture-permeable, it can sometimes lead to skin diseases in sensitive patients.
The present invention was created to solve the above problems, and the purpose of the present invention is to provide a corrective device for patients with early stage hallux valgus, which is manufactured in a customized manner for each patient using 3D printing, and is manufactured using a filament that mixes thermoplastic elastomer, an eco-friendly material, with chitosan, an inorganic antibacterial agent.
For the above purpose, the present invention is a corrective device that is worn on the foot of a patient with hallux valgus to induce correction, characterized in that it comprises a first fixing part in the shape of a ring that is fitted to the big toe, a second fixing part in the shape of a ring that is fitted to the little toe, and a body in which the first and second fixing parts are formed at each of the two ends and are formed to fit closely along the outer edge of the foot around the back of the heel, and in which an anti-slip part is formed on the inside.
At this time, it is preferable that the body is formed inwardly with a first cushion portion protruding to contact the big toe bunion and a second cushion portion protruding to contact the little toe bunion.
In addition, it is preferable that the above body be manufactured using a 3D printer using a filament containing chitosan powder in a thermoplastic elastomer resin.
The present invention manufactures a custom corrector through 3D printing according to the shape and size of the user's foot in the early stages of hallux valgus, thereby enabling optimized correction, and by imparting antibacterial properties to the material, it is possible to prevent various hygiene problems and skin diseases when worn directly on the foot, where bacteria are easily bred.
Additionally, it can be recycled by mixing thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), an eco-friendly material, with chitosan, an inorganic antibacterial agent, thereby reducing waste. It can also be reprocessed and corrected through heat to fit feet that have deformed while wearing it.

The structure of the corrective device for patients with early-stage hallux valgus of the present invention will be specifically described with reference to the attached drawings below.
FIG. 1 is a perspective view according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a plan view according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 3 is a front view according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 4 is a rear view according to an embodiment of the present invention.
The present invention is designed to be worn by patients with early-stage hallux valgus to correct the condition, and basically comprises a first fixing part (111) in the shape of a ring that fits over the big toe, a second fixing part (112) in the shape of a ring that fits over the little toe, and a body (110) in which the first fixing part (111) and the second fixing part (112) are formed at each of the two ends and fit closely along the outer edge of the foot around the back of the heel.
That is, the toes are inserted into the first fixing part (111) and the second fixing part (112) formed at both ends of the body of the corrective device (110) and worn in a close fit in the shape of the foot to induce correction of the misaligned foot shape.
The first fixing part (111) and the second fixing part (112) are manufactured to fit the shape and size of the circumference of the user's big toe and little toe, respectively, to ensure smooth insertion and support, and the body (110) substantially connects the first fixing part (111) and the second fixing part (112) and is formed in a form that fits tightly around the back of the foot on which the device is worn, so that the user wearing the corrective device according to the present invention does not feel any foreign feeling or discomfort.
To this end, the body is basically manufactured using a 3D printer to fit the size and shape of the patient's foot. To this end, it is obvious that the patient's foot must be scanned using a 3D scanner or the like to obtain accurate size and dimension information of the toes and foot.
In this way, when manufacturing a body (110) in a customized manner for each patient using 3D printing, it is preferable to manufacture the filament, which is a material for 3D printing, by mixing an eco-friendly material, thermoplastic elastomer, with chitosan, an inorganic antibacterial agent.
This material is recyclable, which not only reduces waste but also allows for the body (110) to be reprocessed and corrected through heat to fit any deformations in the foot during the manufacturing process or during wear, thanks to its thermoplastic properties. Furthermore, the material's antibacterial properties prevent various hygiene issues and skin diseases when worn directly on the foot, where bacteria can easily multiply.
When manufacturing a filament for a 3D printer by including chitosan powder in a thermoplastic elastomer resin, preferably, 0.5 to 1.5 parts by weight of chitosan powder is mixed with respect to 100 parts by weight of the total thermoplastic elastomer resin, and the mixture is melted by heat and then manufactured through an extruder.
In the case of the first fixing part (111) and the second fixing part (112) described above, they can be manufactured integrally with the body (110) using the filament described above to fit the shape of the user's thumb and little toe, but they can also be manufactured by separately manufacturing the first fixing part (111) and the second fixing part (112) using an elastic material and then combining them with the body (110) manufactured by a 3D printer using a filament.
In addition, to prevent the body (110) from coming off and reducing movement when worn, an anti-slip portion (115) is formed on the inside of the body so that it fits tightly along the outer edge of the foot around the back of the heel. The anti-slip portion (115) has a rough pattern so that it fits tightly to the skin on the outside of the user's foot, especially the back of the heel where slipping is likely to occur due to dead skin cells, etc. The rough pattern can be processed and formed integrally with the body during production using a 3D printer, or it can be separately manufactured with rubber or a resin product with a low skin irritation having a rough pattern formed on one side and attached to the inside of the body.
At this time, it is preferable that the body (110) be formed inwardly with a first cushion portion (113) that protrudes to contact the big toe bunion and a second cushion portion (114) that protrudes to contact the little toe bunion. That is, when the corrective device is worn, the first cushion portion (113) and the second cushion portion (114) are formed to prevent friction caused by the bunion, which is the cause of hallux valgus pain, coming into contact with the shoe.
The first cushion part (113) and the second cushion part (114) can be formed integrally with the body (110) using a 3D printer, but the first cushion part (113) and the second cushion part (114) can be formed separately using a separate resin material that is less irritating to the skin and has elasticity, and then attached to the body (110).
In summary, the hallux valgus corrector according to the present invention is composed of a first fixing part (111) that is fitted and fixed to the big toe, a second fixing part (112) that is fitted and fixed to the little toe, a body (110) having a band structure that wraps the entire foot, and a heel pad, an anti-slip part (115), that is, a heel pad that is fitted and fixed stably. At this time, the areas that wrap the bunion at the bottom of the fixing parts of the big toe and the little toe are formed with a first cushion part (113) and a second cushion part (114), respectively, to reduce pain, and the heel area is formed with an anti-slip part (115) with an anti-slip pattern to solve the problem of frequent slipping off during wearing. The entire product is manufactured through 3D printing so that it can be manufactured based on 3D scanned data of the user's foot shape in a customized manner.
The material is made of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), which is soft and recyclable, making it environmentally friendly. To impart antibacterial properties, chitosan powder, an inorganic antibacterial agent, and granular TPE resin are melted and extruded through an extruder to create antibacterial filament, which is then fed into a 3D printer.
