Description

원격 협업용 공유 공간 생성 방법 및 시스템{METHOD ANS SYSTEM FOR GENERATING REMOTE COLLABORATION MUTUAL SPACE}{METHOD ANS SYSTEM FOR GENERATING REMOTE COLLABORATION MUTUAL SPACE}

Recently, as remote work has become more common due to COVID-19, research on video conferencing systems based on Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) for immersive remote collaboration is actively being conducted.

Among them, asymmetric remote collaboration, in which a remote virtual reality client wearing an HMD (Head Mounted Device) accesses the space of an augmented reality host, is in the spotlight. This is because creating a shared space based on a real space and calling a remote client is less difficult and more complex and more realistic than creating a completely new virtual shared space and providing it to the remote client.

Therefore, the embodiments below propose a technology for creating and providing a shared space for asymmetric remote collaboration that calls a remote virtual reality client based on the space of an augmented reality host.

Memory (210) is a computer-readable storage medium and may include a non-permanent mass storage device such as a random access memory (RAM), a read only memory (ROM), and a disk drive. Here, the non-permanent mass storage device such as a ROM and a disk drive may be included in the computer device (200) as a separate permanent storage device distinct from the memory (210).

Additionally, the memory (210) may store an operating system and at least one program code. Conversely, signals, commands, data, files, etc. from other devices may be received by the computer device (200) via the communication interface (230) of the computer device (200) via the network (170). Signals, commands, data, etc. received via the communication interface (230) may be transmitted to the processor (220) or the memory (210), and files, etc. may be stored in a storage medium (the permanent storage device described above) that the computer device (200) may further include.

The input/output interface (240) may be a means for interfacing with an input/output device (250). For example, the input device may include a device such as a microphone, a keyboard, or a mouse, and the output device may include a device such as a display or a speaker. As another example, the input/output interface (240) may be a means for interfacing with a device that integrates input and output functions into one, such as a touch screen. The input/output device (250) may be configured as a single device with the computer device (200).

Also, in other embodiments, the computer device (200) may include fewer or more components than the components of FIG. 2. However, it is not necessary to explicitly illustrate most of the conventional components. For example, the computer device (200) may be implemented to include at least some of the input/output devices (250) described above, or may further include other components such as a transceiver, a database, etc.

FIG. 3 is a block diagram illustrating an example of components that the processor illustrated in FIG. 2 may include, FIG. 4 is a flow chart illustrating a method for creating a shared space for remote collaboration performed by the computer device illustrated in FIG. 2, and FIGS. 5 to 8 are drawings for explaining the method for creating a shared space for remote collaboration illustrated in FIG. 4.

In embodiments of the present invention, the computer device (200) can create and provide an asymmetric remote collaboration shared space that calls a remote virtual reality client based on the space of an augmented reality host by executing a method for creating a shared space for remote collaboration. To this end, the computer device (200) can be configured with a remote collaboration shared space creation system that is a subject for performing the method for creating a shared space for remote collaboration. For example, the remote collaboration shared space creation system can be implemented in the form of an independently operating program, or can be configured in the form of an in-app of a dedicated application so as to be operable on the dedicated application.

The processor (220) of the computer device (200) may be implemented as a component for performing the method for creating a shared space for remote collaboration according to FIG. 4. For example, the processor (220) may include a forming unit (310), a designating unit (320), an alignment unit (330), and a creating unit (340) as illustrated in FIG. 3 so as to perform the steps (S410 to S440) illustrated in FIG. 4. Depending on the embodiment, the components of the processor (220) may be selectively included in or excluded from the processor (220). In addition, depending on the embodiment, the components of the processor (220) may be separated or merged to express the function of the processor (220).

These processors (220) and components of the processor (220) can control the computer device (200) to perform steps (S410 to S440) included in the method for creating a shared space for remote collaboration of FIG. 4. For example, the processor (220) and components of the processor (220) can be implemented to execute instructions according to the code of the operating system included in the memory (210) and the code of at least one program.

Here, the components of the processor (220) may be representations of different functions performed by the processor (220) according to instructions provided by the program code stored in the computer device (200). For example, the forming unit (310) may be used as a functional representation of the processor (220) that controls the computer device (200) to form an augmented reality host space and at least one virtual reality client space.

The processor (220) can read necessary commands from the memory (210) loaded with commands related to the control of the computer device (200). In this case, the read commands may include commands for controlling the processor (220) to execute steps (S410 to S440) to be described later.

The steps (S410 to S440) to be described hereinafter may be performed in a different order than the order illustrated in FIG. 4, and some of the steps (S410 to S440) may be omitted or additional processes may be included.

In step (S410), the processor (220) (more precisely, the forming unit (310) included in the processor (220)) can form an augmented reality host space and at least one virtual reality client space.

More specifically, the processor (220) (more precisely, the forming unit (310) included in the processor (220)) can form a three-dimensional digital twin model (augmented reality host space and at least one virtual reality client space) based on a real space where an augmented reality host is located and a real space where at least one virtual reality client is located.

In step (S420), the processor (220) (more precisely, the designation unit (320) included in the processor (220)) can designate a label for geometric information of each of the augmented reality host space and at least one virtual reality client space.

Hereinafter, geometric information includes floors, walls, reference objects, and obstacle objects placed in a space, and the reference object means an object commonly included in each of the augmented reality host space and at least one virtual reality client space as a single object used for remote collaboration, and the obstacle object means objects other than the reference object among the objects placed in the space.

Specifically, the processor (220) (more precisely, the designation unit (320) included in the processor (220)) can identify each of the floor, the wall, the reference object and the obstacle object of the augmented reality host space and assign labels to each of the floor, the wall, the reference object and the obstacle object of the augmented reality host space, and can identify each of the floor, the wall, the reference object and the obstacle object of at least one virtual reality client space and assign labels to each of the floor, the wall, the reference object and the obstacle object of at least one virtual reality client space.

At this time, the processor (220) (more precisely, the designation unit (320) included in the processor (220)) can designate labels only for objects interacting with the augmented reality host or at least one virtual reality client among geometric information of each of the augmented reality host space and at least one virtual reality client space.

For example, as illustrated in FIG. 6, where a rectangular table used for remote collaboration is commonly included in an augmented reality host space and at least one virtual reality client space, the processor (220) (more precisely, the designation unit (320) included in the processor (220)) may identify the rectangular table included in each of the augmented reality host space and the at least one virtual reality client space as a reference object and label it in red, and may identify a wall in each of the augmented reality host space and the at least one virtual reality client space and label the wall in brown. In addition, the processor (220) (more precisely, the designation unit (320) included in the processor (220)) may identify chairs as obstacle objects of the augmented reality host space and label the chairs in purple, and may identify chairs as obstacle objects of the at least one virtual reality client space and label the chairs in blue. Since objects such as the ceiling and lights located on the ceiling do not interact with the augmented reality host and at least one virtual reality client, the processor (220) (more precisely, the designation unit (320) included in the processor (220)) may not separately assign labels to objects such as the ceiling and lights located on the ceiling.

In step (S430), the processor (220) (more precisely, the alignment unit (330) included in the processor (220)) can align the augmented reality host space and at least one virtual reality client space using a spatial matching algorithm based on alignment of a reference object center included in geometric information and a relative translation gain (RTG).

More specifically, the processor (220) (more precisely, the alignment unit (330) included in the processor (220)) can align at least one virtual reality client space with respect to the augmented reality host space such that a geometric information matching ratio between the augmented reality host space and the at least one virtual reality client space is maximized.

Here, the geometric information matching ratio between the augmented reality host space and at least one virtual reality client space can be calculated as in Equations 1 and 2 below.

<식 1><Formula 1>

<식 2><Formula 2>

In equation 2 refers to the (x, y) plane (the floor plan of the augmented reality host space) formed by the position coordinates of the augmented reality host space containing geometric information, is the (x, y) plane formed by the position coordinates of the i-th virtual reality client space containing geometric information (the plane of the i-th virtual reality client space), and the rotation angle value of the i-th virtual reality client space. and the gain value of the size transformation of the i-th virtual reality client space , can be produced as

The rotation angle value of at least one virtual reality client space means an angle value by which at least one virtual reality client space rotates relative to the augmented reality host space around a reference object, and a size transformation gain value of at least one virtual reality client space. , is a gain value by which the size of at least one virtual reality client space is transformed in a first direction (e.g., x-axis direction) among the coordinate axes of the position coordinate of the augmented reality host space. and a gain value by which the size of at least one virtual reality client space is transformed in a second direction (e.g., the y-axis direction) orthogonal to the first direction among the coordinate axes. may include.

Equation 1 is an equation that maximizes the geometric information matching ratio between the augmented reality host space and at least one virtual reality client space, and can be calculated as in Equation 2 based on the position coordinates of the augmented reality host space, the rotation angle value of the at least one virtual reality client space, and the scale transformation gain value.

Accordingly, in step (S430), the processor (220) (more precisely, the alignment unit (330) included in the processor (220)) calculates a rotation angle value of at least one virtual reality client space based on the position coordinates of the augmented reality host space, the rotation angle value of at least one virtual reality client space, and the size transformation gain value as shown in FIG. 7, so that the geometric information matching ratio between the augmented reality host space and the at least one virtual reality client space is maximized as in Equation 1. and size conversion gain values , After calculating the size conversion gain value of at least one virtual reality client space, , Scaling at least one virtual reality client space according to the scaled at least one virtual reality client space, and calculating a rotation angle value of at least one virtual reality client space. can be aligned to the augmented reality host space.

At this time, the rotation angle value of at least one virtual reality client space is such that the geometric information matching ratio between the augmented reality host space and at least one virtual reality client space is maximized as in Equation 1. and size conversion gain values , In the process of producing, at least one virtual reality client space size transformation gain value , The critical range conditions for must be satisfied.

That is, in step (S430), the processor (220) (more precisely, the alignment unit (330) included in the processor (220)) sets a size conversion gain value of at least one virtual reality client space based on the spatial characteristics of the augmented reality host space or at least one virtual reality client space, respectively. , Below, at least one virtual reality client space size transformation gain value that satisfies the critical range condition for maximizing the geometric information matching ratio. , can produce.

The size transformation gain value of at least one virtual reality client space. , The critical range condition for can be set as in Equation 3 below based on the spatial characteristics of each of the augmented reality host space and at least one virtual reality client space.

<식 3><Formula 3>

In equation 3 and can be set based on the spatial characteristics of the augmented reality host space or at least one virtual reality client space, respectively. For example, since the augmented reality host space has the spatial characteristics of the Small Х Scattered layout, is 0.82 can be set to 1.25.

Additionally, at least one VR client space size transformation gain value , A critical range condition for can be set so that RDW (Redirected Walking) can be applied to the user. For example, the size transformation gain value of at least one virtual reality client space. , The critical range condition for can be set as shown in Equation 4 below.

<식 4><Formula 4>

In step (S440), the processor (220) (more precisely, the generation unit (340) included in the processor (220)) can generate a shared space for remote collaboration based on the aligned augmented reality host space and at least one virtual reality client space.

Specifically, the processor (220) (more precisely, the generation unit (340) included in the processor (220)) can augment at least one virtual object in an area whose geometric information does not match at least one virtual reality client space among the aligned augmented reality host spaces, and then provide the augmented reality host space augmented with at least one virtual object as a shared space for remote collaboration.

Here, an area in which geometric information does not match at least one aligned virtual reality client space among the aligned augmented reality host spaces means that it is obscured by geometric information of at least one aligned virtual reality client space.

Accordingly, the processor (220) (more precisely, the generation unit (340) included in the processor (220)) augments at least one virtual object corresponding to the geometric information of at least one aligned virtual reality client space in the corresponding area (an area among the aligned augmented reality host spaces in which the geometric information does not match with at least one aligned virtual reality client space), thereby preventing a collision that may occur in the process in which the virtual reality client uses the augmented reality host space as a shared space for remote collaboration.

For example, if there is an area where a square table of at least one aligned virtual reality client space among the aligned augmented reality host spaces deviates from the square table of the aligned augmented reality host spaces, the processor (220) (more precisely, the generation unit (340) included in the processor (220)) can augment a virtual object corresponding to a part where the square table of at least one aligned virtual reality client space deviates from the square table of the aligned augmented reality host spaces, as illustrated in FIG. 8.

In addition, the processor (220) (more precisely, the generation unit (340) included in the processor (220)) is not limited or restricted to providing an augmented reality host space in which at least one virtual object is augmented as a shared space for remote collaboration, and may provide an augmented reality host space in which a walkable area is visualized by visualizing a walkable area of at least one virtual reality client in the augmented reality host space in which at least one virtual object is augmented as a shared space for remote collaboration. This is because the augmented reality host space is different from at least one virtual reality client space based on an actual space in which at least one virtual reality client is located.

That is, in order to prevent at least one virtual reality client from colliding with an actual physical wall during the process of using the augmented reality host space as a shared space for remote collaboration when the size of at least one virtual reality client space is different from that of the augmented reality host space, the processor (220) (more precisely, the generation unit (340) included in the processor (220)) may visualize a walkable area for at least one virtual reality client in the augmented reality host space in which at least one virtual object is augmented, and then provide the augmented reality host space in which the walkable area is visualized as a shared space for remote collaboration.

By utilizing a spatial matching algorithm based on alignment of reference objects included in geometric information and a relative translation gain (RTG), the rate at which geometric information matches between the augmented reality host space formed based on the actual space where the augmented reality host is located and the virtual reality client space formed based on the actual space where the virtual reality client is located can be maximized, while achieving the technical effect of creating and providing a wider shared space for remote collaboration.

In addition, while the aligned augmented reality host space is provided as a shared space for remote collaboration, a technical effect of preventing collisions that may occur when an augmented reality host or a virtual reality client uses the shared space for remote collaboration can be achieved by augmenting at least one virtual object for collision prevention or visualizing a walkable area for collision prevention.
