Description

배터리셀 전압 편차 검출장치 및 그 방법{Detecting device of battery cell Voltage Deviation and the method thereof}BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention [0001] The present invention relates to a battery cell voltage deviation detecting device,

The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for detecting a battery cell voltage deviation, and more particularly, to an apparatus and method for detecting a battery cell voltage deviation capable of detecting an inter-cell voltage deviation without voltage sensing for each cell of the battery .

An electric vehicle or a fuel cell vehicle that is an environmentally friendly vehicle has a low voltage battery (also referred to as a 'secondary battery') to provide power for starting the vehicle and to provide power to electric loads operating at a low voltage. Also, a general internal combustion engine vehicle that drives an engine using fossil fuel is provided with a battery that can be charged to start the vehicle or provide power to electric loads.

Lead-acid batteries that can be manufactured at low cost have been used up to now, but they are expected to be replaced by lithium batteries with longer life and superior electrical characteristics.

It is important to prevent deterioration of the battery life in a long-term vehicle. Therefore, in order to minimize the occurrence of a cell-to-cell variation, which is one of deterioration preventing means, cell balancing is performed. Passive balancing is used mainly to reduce the voltage by consuming a resistor using a resistor. In addition, in EVs and the like, the battery capacity is directly linked to the mileage, so that the battery capacity is increasingly increasing. As a result, the consumption current / power of the discharge resistance required for cell balancing also increases. .

Therefore, as the number of cells increases as the number of battery cells increases in parallel to increase the battery capacity, the number of circuits of the controller that monitors the cell voltage increases sharply.

Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

1 is a diagram showing a connection relationship between a drive motor for driving a vehicle, a high voltage battery, a low voltage DC converter, a 12V auxiliary battery, and an auxiliary electric field load.

(Main battery) 20, which is a storage means for supplying electric power to the electric motor 10, as well as an electric motor (drive motor) 10 for driving the vehicle, as shown in Fig. 1, And an inverter 11 for rotating the electric motor 10 is provided. In the case of a fuel cell vehicle, a fuel cell hybrid system in which a storage means such as a battery is used as an auxiliary power source connected in parallel to a fuel cell (not shown) as a main power source and a supercapacitor in addition to the battery as an auxiliary power source, have.

The inverter 11 converts an electric power supplied from a storage means (or a fuel cell) to an electric motor (hereinafter, referred to as 'drive motor') 10 according to a control signal applied from a controller.

In addition, eco-friendly vehicles are equipped with power converters, such as DC-DC power conversion between a high-voltage battery (main battery), a low-voltage battery (12V auxiliary battery) and a low-voltage auxiliary field load (Aux. A low voltage DC-DC converter (LDC) 30 is mounted.

Accordingly, in an environmentally friendly vehicle such as a hybrid vehicle (HEV) and an electric vehicle (EV), there are two types of high voltage battery 20 used as a high voltage main power source and a 12V auxiliary battery (low voltage battery) The 12V auxiliary battery 40 supplies a low voltage electric field load of the vehicle (for example, a high voltage battery 20) 41).

In the eco-friendly automobile, the auxiliary battery 40 is used as the 12-V power source, and the auxiliary battery 40 is charged by using the low-voltage DC converter 30 when the power of the auxiliary battery 40 is insufficient.

The low voltage DC converter 30 is connected directly between the high voltage battery 20 and the low voltage battery 40 which are vehicle batteries and is also connected to the drive motor 10 ).

The regenerative braking energy of the drive motor 10 increases the reference voltage Vref for adjusting the output voltage of the LDC 30 during regenerative braking in the environmentally friendly automobile, .

That is, it is possible to supply the power required for operation of the 12V auxiliary electric-field load in accordance with the reference voltage of the LDC 30 at the time of normal driving, and at the same time, the reference voltage of the LDC 30 is increased, The control for charging the 12V auxiliary battery 40 is performed.

As described above, the 12V auxiliary battery 40 senses the voltage within the cell to check the state of the inter-cell voltage, so that the state of charging and discharging of the 12V auxiliary battery 40 can be known.

FIGS. 1A to 1C are graphs showing a voltage curve according to a cell state of the auxiliary battery.

As shown in FIG. 1A, normal battery cell voltage and available SOC range are graphically displayed. In FIG. 1B, when a cell voltage is changed due to a dark current or a cell malfunction due to a cell defect even in one cell, It is small. 1C shows that, even if one cell has a small capacity due to uneven temperature and surface pressure imbalance in the module, the voltage rapidly increases at an SOC higher than the available SOC range.

Therefore, it is necessary to detect the voltage deviation of the battery cell to check the battery state to inform the user or to control the charge / discharge according to the battery state.

3 is a block diagram of a battery cell voltage deviation detection apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 3, the battery cell voltage deviation detection apparatus 100 according to the embodiment of the present invention includes a battery cell module 110 including a plurality of cells; A low voltage DC converter (LDC) 120 for charging the battery cell module 110 with a first voltage to reset the battery SOC and charging the battery cell module 110 in a plurality of steps in a second voltage state when the discharge current is within a predetermined reference value, ); A current detector 130 for detecting a discharge current while discharging the battery module charged with the first voltage to a second voltage; And a voltage detector (140) for detecting a voltage deviation according to the charging time for each of the plurality of steps.

The battery cell module 110 is an element that stores electrical energy for outputting power at a low voltage (for example, about 12 V). The battery can provide power to the various loads that require operation at start-up of the vehicle and, in some cases, can be used to provide the necessary power supply for low voltage loads during vehicle operation.

In various embodiments of the present invention, a battery may be termed a low voltage battery or a secondary battery to distinguish it from a high voltage battery for motor drive when applied to an environmentally friendly vehicle that drives the motor with high voltage power, It can be called a battery.

As the battery cell module 110, a lead-acid battery or a lithium battery may be applied. Although relatively low cost lead acid batteries have been applied to date, lithium batteries having high reliability and long life characteristics are replacing lead acid batteries. Since the lithium battery has a feature that the performance is rapidly deteriorated when the battery is discharged below a predetermined voltage, a relay (not shown) is required to cut off the connection with the vehicle system when the voltage decreases below a predetermined voltage level. The battery cell module 110 is not necessarily limited to a lithium battery but may be constructed of a lead acid battery 110 as a battery 110, May be used as well.

The low voltage DC converter 120 includes a controller 124 and a determination unit 122. The low voltage DC converter 120 resets the battery SOC by charging the battery cell module 110 with the first voltage, The voltage step is divided into a plurality of voltage steps in the second voltage state.

More specifically, the low-voltage DC converter 120 may further include a sensor unit for sensing the output voltage and the output current, and calculates the output power of the low-voltage DC converter and detects the SOC of the secondary low-voltage battery 110.

The control unit 124 charges the battery cell module 110 with the first voltage having the maximum SOC state in order to detect the voltage deviation between the battery cells of the battery cell module 110. [ Here, by resetting the SOC state of the battery cell to a maximum at a certain voltage, it becomes possible to sort or predict the state between the battery cells.

The discharging current is detected while discharging the battery cell charged with the first voltage to the second voltage. This is because the cell state may be different due to the overvoltage depending on the amount of discharged current. Since the control and prediction of the discharge current can not be controlled, it is possible to diagnose the level of the voltage deviation at the discharge current using the pre-stored map data. That is, the detected discharge current is compared with the reference value of the pre-stored map data discharge current, and if the discharge current is less than the reference value, the voltage deviation between the battery cells is detected. At this time, it is possible to check whether or not the discharge current of the battery cell due to other variables is generated by maintaining the predetermined time after discharging to the second voltage.

The controller 124 is for detecting a voltage deviation when the discharge current is less than the reference value. The controller 124 divides the voltage into a plurality of step voltages and charges each step to detect a charging time and a charging current according to the charging voltage.

For example, when the battery cell is first charged to 14V, which is the first voltage, and then discharged to the second voltage of 13.2V, if the discharge current is detected to be less than the reference value, it is detected as 13.5V (third voltage) , 13.8V (fourth voltage), and 14.1V (fifth voltage), respectively. At this time, it is judged whether or not a voltage deviation occurs by comparing the rise time of the stored voltage when charging is performed for each step. That is, it is determined that there is no voltage deviation when the charge voltage rises for each step in the same manner as compared with the pre-stored map data, and if the battery cell module voltage suddenly rises higher than the map data, it is detected that there is a voltage deviation.

FIG. 4A is a diagram showing a normal case of detecting a battery cell voltage deviation according to the present invention, and FIG. 4B is a diagram showing an abnormal case of detecting a battery cell voltage deviation according to the present invention.

As shown in FIG. 4A, when the voltage rising speed is normal from the second voltage to the third voltage, from the third voltage to the fourth voltage, and from the fourth voltage to the fifth voltage, . When the voltage rising rate charged at the time of charging from the third voltage to the fourth voltage is high, it is determined that there is a voltage deviation in an abnormal case.

The determination unit 122 determines that the battery cell is abnormal when the voltage deviation of the plurality of steps is detected N times consecutively above the reference value and if it is determined that the battery cell is abnormal, . That is, if it is determined that there is a voltage deviation for each of the plurality of steps, it is determined whether or not such voltage deviation is repeatedly generated for several times of charging, and then charge / discharge control of the battery cell is performed.

The current detector 130 senses the current of the battery cell module and detects the current when discharging the battery cell module charged with the first voltage to the second voltage.

The voltage detector 140 compares the charging time up to a preset voltage for each of the plurality of steps with the charging time for each step of the stored map data to detect the voltage deviation. The voltage detector 140 compares the charging time of each step with the charging time of the reference value of the stored map data, and if the charging time is shorter than the reference value, the voltage deviation is generated.

5 is a flowchart illustrating a method of detecting a battery cell voltage deviation according to an embodiment of the present invention.

5, a method of detecting a battery cell voltage deviation according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention performs a step of resetting a battery SOC by charging a battery module including a plurality of cells with a first voltage (S210) . Here, in order to detect a voltage deviation between the battery cells of the battery cell module, the control unit charges the first voltage having the maximum SOC state. Here, by resetting the SOC state of the battery cell to a maximum at a certain voltage, it becomes possible to sort or predict the state between the battery cells.

The discharge current is detected while discharging the battery module charged with the first voltage to the second voltage (S220).

Next, if the detected discharge current is within a preset reference value (S230), a step of dividing the battery into a plurality of steps in a second voltage state is performed (S240). Here, the control unit is for detecting the voltage deviation when the discharge current is less than the reference value, and it is divided into a plurality of step voltages, and the charging time and the charging current according to the charging voltage are detected while charging each step.

(S240). Next, a step of detecting a voltage deviation according to the charging time for each of the plurality of steps is performed (S240).

More specifically, the voltage variation is detected by comparing the charging time to the predetermined voltage for each of the plurality of steps with the charging time for each step of the stored map data. At this time, the charge time of each step is compared with the charge time of the reference value of the stored map data, and if it is shorter than the reference value, it is detected that there is a voltage deviation. In other words, in order to detect a voltage deviation, the target voltage is set to 13.5 V (third voltage), 13.8 V (fourth voltage) and 14.1 V (fifth voltage), respectively. It is judged whether or not a voltage deviation has occurred by comparing with the rise time of the voltage. Herein, it is determined that there is no voltage deviation when the charge voltage increases for each step in the same manner as compared with the previously stored map data, and it is detected that there is a voltage deviation if the battery cell module voltage suddenly increases unlike the map data.

Next, when the voltage deviation of the plurality of steps is continuously detected more than N times, the step of determining that the battery cell is abnormal is performed (S250, S260). Here, since there may be a case where the voltage deviation is generated by other environmental variables of the battery cell, it is judged whether or not the battery cell is abnormal when a repeated voltage deviation occurs.

Finally, if it is determined that the battery cell is abnormal, a battery check notification and a battery voltage are controlled to a preset voltage (S270). That is, if it is determined that there is a voltage deviation for each of the plurality of steps, it is determined whether or not such voltage deviation is repeatedly generated for several times of charging, and then charge / discharge control of the battery cell is performed.

Therefore, as described in the present invention, the battery cell state can be checked without adding a circuit configuration by using the charging rate of the plurality of step-by-step charging voltages of the battery cell module without sensing the battery cells individually.
