Description
The present invention relates to a camera module, and more particularly, to a camera module capable of precisely controlling the position of a lens with a simple structure.
With the development of information technology, multimedia devices such as cellular phones, MP3 players, notebook computers, PDAs, digital camcorders, and digital cameras are becoming popular with consumers as they are easy to carry.
These multimedia devices are evolving into new concept devices by combining consumer needs and manufacturer's strategies. In recent years, digital convergence products, which integrate various functions into one product, are leading the market.
In the case of mobile phones, for example, digital camera modules are mostly integrated products. Here, 'camera module' is used as a generic term for a compact multimedia device having a digital camera module.
As a camera module, a mobile phone with a built-in digital camera module has many performance improvements that threaten the existing digital camera market, and recently, a compact digital camera module with a high resolution of several million pixels is built in. Although the market trend of the mobile phone industry has progressed in the direction of increasing the number of pixels in the simple shooting mode, the aspect has been changed by the competition of the camera control technology for realizing the accurate image quality as the number of pixels increases to the megapixel level. The compact digital camera module, which is differentiated to have a high resolution, requires auto focusing or optical zoom function in order to achieve a precise image in spite of its small size.
In the conventional camera module having a small number of pixels, the lens group is fixed in the optical axis direction in order to reduce the manufacturing cost and product size. The optical zoom function could not be realized, and the magnification of the lens group was adjusted by a so-called 'digital zoom' function in which the electric signal for the optical image was magnified by the image sensor and the image processing chip.
Although the auto-focusing function and the optical zoom function are already common in conventional digital cameras, they are still difficult to implement in a compact digital camera module in which the width and length are reduced to several tens of mm or less. For example, when taking an image in infinite focus mode, the movement of the lens group must be restrained while being inhibited. In the macro and close-up modes in which the lens group is brought close to the subject, the lens group is moved in the optical axis direction, .
Achieving autofocus or optical zoom in a compact, shrunken camera module requires innovative improvements in drive mechanisms, including actuators.

The camera module of the present invention can move a moving part of a lens module or the like provided with a lens by a simple structure using a drive unit whose shape is changed by current or heat application.
Further, the position of the lens can be reliably grasped without using a separate sensor by grasping the resistance or the like of the drive unit. This makes it possible to precisely control the position of the lens.

The illustrated actuator is a voice coil having a
The manner in which the
The
The fixing
The
The moving
5 is a schematic view showing another camera module of the present invention.
The camera module shown in FIG. 5 includes a fixing
The fixing
The base may be a body of various terminals to which the camera module is installed or an element fixed to the body of the terminal, and the base may be a non-moving element from the perspective of the terminal. The fixing
The moving
The moving
The driving
As described above, the actuator is complicated in configuration and productivity may be deteriorated by using a plurality of members such as a magnetic body and a coil which maintain the original shape.
The driving
The driving
First, the case where the
FIG. 6 is a graph showing a current flowing through the shape memory alloy and shape-changing characteristics thereof.
The shape memory alloy is an alloy having a shape memory effect in which, when the alloy formed in the parent phase is deformed when the alloy is on another phase, the shape returns to the original shape when the alloy is returned to the parent phase. The phase at this time may be heat, that is, temperature.
The
Referring to FIG. 6, it can be seen that the position, that is, the shape of the shape memory alloy changes according to the time that the set current flows through the shape memory alloy. This refers to the process of returning to the original shape by the heat generated by the current. The shape memory alloy which has returned to its original shape does not cause any further shape change even if the set current continues to flow.
In consideration of the properties of the shape memory alloy, the

In FIG. 6, the set current indicates a state in which the PWM controlled current is applied, and the degree of change of the shape memory alloy can be adjusted by changing the PWM period, intensity, and material of the shape memory alloy. Further, by changing the material of the shape memory alloy, the change section of the shape memory alloy can be adjusted to a desired range.
7 is a graph showing the relationship between the temperature and the rate of change of the shape memory alloy.
It can be seen that the shape memory alloy undergoes rapid deformation at a certain temperature. The shape of the shape memory alloy is appropriately controlled by changing the shape of the shape memory alloy by providing a current capable of providing the environment of the interval c and controlling the current by PWM (Pulse Width Modulation), and moving the moving
In FIG. 7, the section c has a steep slope close to the vertical, but it has a linearity in a small time interval. Therefore, there is no problem in precise position control even using the interval c.
Referring to FIG. 7, it can be seen that hysteresis appears, which may be due to the characteristics of shrinkage of the shape memory alloy and the difficulty of expansion, or vice versa. Since the hysteresis has a bad influence on the position control of the precise lens, a

The

9, when the current does not flow in the
