These negative factors can reduce the morale of the authors and reduce their willingness to produce them, which in turn can cause hesitation. Accordingly, a technology for applying digital rights management (DRM) to digital content has emerged to protect the interests and rights of digital works, and is also used in various DRM methods.

DRM is a generic term for technology that protects the interests and rights of copyright parties by preventing unauthorized use of digital content. In general, a server providing content by using a DRM method encrypts and transmits the content, and transmits a license to the right user so that only the right user can play and output the content. The license includes a content encryption key used for decrypting the content, a content use right that is information on content use information, and the like.

On the other hand, the digital content using the DRM scheme can be used normally only if a license corresponding to the digital content is used, and the content user can decode and use the content using the license.
