- 하부 기판 및 상부 기판;상기 하부 기판 상에 서로 종횡으로 교차되어 화소 영역을 정의하는 게이트 라인 및 데이터 라인;상기 게이트 라인과 평행한 방향으로 형성되는 공통 라인;상기 게이트 라인 및 데이터 라인의 교차 영역에 형성된 박막트랜지스터;상기 박막트랜지스터를 포함한 전면에 형성된 보호막과,상기 보호막 상에 상기 박막 트랜지스터의 드레인 전극과 연결되어 형성된 화소 전극;상기 보호막 상에 상기 화소 전극과 평행하여 이격된 공통 전극 패턴을 구비하며, 상기 공통 전극 패턴과 연결되며 상기 데이터 라인을 완전히 덮도록 형성된 공통 전극;상기 상부 기판 상에 상기 게이트 라인 및 공통 라인을 포함한 그 주변부에 대응하여 2색상의 색필름이 오버랩되어 형성된 칼라 필터층;상기 상하부 기판 상에, 각각 데이터 라인과 평행한 방향으로 러빙 처리되어 형성된 배향막; 및상기 양 기판 사이에 형성된 액정층을 포함하여 구성되어 이루어지며,상기 화소 전극 및 공통 전극은 금속층과 ITO(Indium Tin Oxide)층의 이중층으로 형성됨을 특징으로 하는 횡전계형 액정 표시 장치.

- 하부 기판 상에 수평 방향으로 서로 소정 간격 이격하여 게이트 라인과 공통 라인 및 상기 게이트 라인으로부터 돌출된 게이트 전극을 형성하는 단계;상기 게이트 라인과 수직한 방향으로 데이터 라인을 형성하고, 상기 게이트 전극 양측에 소오스 전극 및 드레인 전극을 형성하는 단계;금속층과 ITO(Indium Tin Oxide)층의 이중층으로, 상기 드레인 전극과 연결되는 화소 전극을 형성하고, 상기 화소 전극과 평행하며 이격된 공통 전극 패턴과, 상기 공통 전극 패턴과 연결되며 상기 데이터 라인을 완전히 덮도록 형성된 공통 전극을 함께 형성하는 단계;상기 하부 기판에 대향된 상부 기판 상에 상기 게이트 라인 및 공통 라인을 포함한 그 주변부에 대응하여 2색상의 색필름을 오버랩하여 칼라 필터층을 형성하는 단계;상기 상하부 기판 상에 각각 상기 데이터 라인과 평행한 방향으로 러빙 처리한 배향막을 형성하는 단계; 및상기 상하부 기판 사이에 액정층을 형성하는 단계를 포함하여 이루어지는 횡전계형 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
