Description
Claims (9)
- 복수 개의 기공을 갖고 두 단부면 사이에서 배기 가스 유로로서 기능하는 복수 개의 셀을 형성하도록 배치된 다공성 격벽과, 두 단부면 상의 셀의 개방 단부 중 하나를 교대로 밀봉하도록 배치되는 밀봉부를 포함하고, 중심축과 평행한 평면에서 2개 또는 그 이상으로 분리되는 전체 구조체의 일부분의 형상을 갖는 허니컴 세그먼트들이 결합되어 전체 구조체를 형성하는 구성을 갖는 허니컴 구조체로서,상기 허니컴 세그먼트들은 이 허니컴 세그먼트들의 적어도 일부분에 일반적인 나머지 세그먼트와 다른 특성을 갖는 특정 세그먼트를 포함하고,상기 특정 세그먼트의 복수 개의 셀에 상기 밀봉부가 배치되지 않은 개방 단부(밀봉되지 않은 개방 단부)에 추가의 밀봉부가 배치되어, 적어도 일부분의 배기 가스가 상기 밀봉되지 않은 개방 단부로 흐르는 것을 억제하는 것인 허니컴 구조체.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 특정 세그먼트는 일반적인 세그먼트와 다른 특성으로 보다 높은 개구율(opening ratio)을 갖는 것인 허니컴 구조체.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 특정 세그먼트는 일반적인 세그먼트와 다른 특성으로 보다 높은 다공도(porosity)를 갖는 것인 허니컴 구조체.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 특정 세그먼트는 일반적인 세그먼트와 다른 특성으로 보다 큰 체적(중심축에 대해 수직인 평면을 따라 취한 단면적)을 갖는 것인 허니컴 구조체.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 특정 세그먼트는 일반적인 세그먼트와 다른 특성으로 보다 낮은 열전도율을 갖는 것인 허니컴 구조체.
- 제1항에 있어서, 일반적인 세그먼트에 있는 격벽의 재료는 코디어라이트이고, 상기 특정 세그먼트는 일반적인 세그먼트와 다른 특성으로 탄화규소(SiC)로 이루어진 격벽의 재료를 갖는 것인 허니컴 세그먼트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 전체 구조체는, 특정 세그먼트가 배기 가스에 의해 가열될 때 최고 온도를 갖는 부분에, 특정 세그먼트가 배치되도록 조립되어 형성되는 것인 허니컴 세그먼트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 전체 구조체는, 상기 특정 세그먼트가 중심축을 포함하는 중앙부에 배치되도록 조립되어 형성되는 것인 허니컴 세그먼트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 추가의 밀봉부의 중심축에 대해 수직인 평면을 따라 취한 단면 형상은 예정된 일련의 형상을 형성하도록 서로 연속적인 것인 허니컴 세 그먼트.
