The present invention relates to a backlight assembly and a method for assembling the backlight assembly used in a display device such as a liquid crystal display device.

In general, in a display device such as a liquid crystal display device, in order to view an image displayed on a panel, it is necessary to provide a backlight assembly that emits light behind the panel.

As shown in FIG. 1, the backlight assembly is combined with a lamp assembly, a lamp assembly consisting of a lamp 102 and a lamp housing 104 surrounding the lamp 102 and reflecting light behind the lamp 102. In addition, a wiring for supplying power to the lamp is connected to the lamp assembly. Usually these wirings are arranged by a wire guide provided on the bottom of the cover bottom and a wire guide provided on the guide panel.

Referring to FIG. 3, the lamp assembly 113 is positioned at the long side of the cover bottom 112, and the guide panel 114 is positioned at the short side. However, in such a conventional configuration, since the combination of the lamp assembly, the reflecting plate and the light guide plate is mounted during the entire assembly process, the wirings connected to the lamp assembly are hindered at a later assembly step. As a result, workability of the entire assembly process may be lowered. In addition, the wiring may be damaged by other components in a subsequent assembly step.

Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to increase the productivity of the product by preventing the occurrence of defects of the product due to foreign matter stuck to the sheets or the like during the assembly process.

In addition, an object of the present invention is to prevent workability deterioration due to the wiring connected to the lamp assembly during the assembly process.

In addition, it is an object of the present invention to prevent damage to the wiring connected to the lamp assembly by the other components during the assembly process to suppress the occurrence of defects.

Referring to FIG. 10, a cover bottom 212 is first positioned, and a lamp assembly is installed in a longitudinal direction near each of the long side edges of the cover bottom 212. Lamp assemblies are installed on both sides of the long side edges of the cover bottom 212, and backlight wires connected to the respective lamp assemblies are formed in the grooves of the guide parts 216 and 218 integrally formed on the rear and side surfaces of the cover bottom 212. It is inserted and cleaned up. In the subsequent assembly process, the backlight wiring does not need to be rearranged.

Subsequently, after the backlight wirings connected to the respective lamp assemblies are completely arranged, the reflecting plate 208 and the light guide plate 206 are inserted and fixed between the lamp assemblies. Usually, the guide panel is assembled and fixed to the cover bottom through fastening parts such as hooks.

Such assembling structure is called assembling structure because the assembly structure is completely opposite to that of the conventional assembling structure.

In this assembly structure, the light guide plate and sheets can be mounted while operating the lamp and visually checking the state of the product. Therefore, when foreign matter is caught in the light guide plate or sheets, it can be easily removed. As a result, productivity of a product improves because the occurrence of a defect of a product can be prevented.

In addition, since the backlight wiring is completely arranged by the first and second guides formed over the back and side surfaces of the cover bottom before assembling other components, it is not necessary to care about the backlight wiring when assembling other components later. Accordingly, the workability is remarkably increased as compared with the case of arranging the wiring after the assembly process is completed as in the prior art.

In addition, since the wiring arrangement is completed before assembling other parts, product productivity is improved because no problems such as poor wiring occur during assembly.

In the above example, only the assembly process of the backlight assembly itself excluding the panel has been described above, but the present invention is not limited thereto, and the present invention may be applied to an apparatus including the panel.

Example 2 differs from Example 1 in that the guide formed in the side surface of the cover bottom in Example 1 was installed in the lamp housing.

Referring to the drawings, guides 220 vertically extending upward from the bottom of the lamp housing 204 are installed on both sides of the lamp housing. In the assembling process of the backlight assembly having such a configuration, the arrangement of the backlight wiring is completed before assembling other products as in the first embodiment. The assembly of the other parts is the same as in Example 1.

As mentioned above, Example 2 can acquire the same effect as Example 1.

As described above, the backlight assembly and its assembly method according to the present invention can prevent the degradation of the work efficiency due to the backlight wiring because the completion of the arrangement of the backlight wiring connected to the lamp assembly before the assembly process of the other components, Defects such as disconnection of wiring can be prevented.

In addition, the present invention has an effect that can be easily removed when foreign matter is present in the light guide plate or sheet because it is assembled in a regular assembly form, it is possible to prevent defects of the product.
