Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for adjusting mechanism for pressing force by decreasing the spring constant sufficiently with respect to the displacement of 6th or 7th rolling contact member and fitting a leaf spring elastic body between the optical head and a 2nd guide shaft while deflecting it sufficiently. CONSTITUTION:Since the leaf spring 12 has a sufficient distance between its free end and its fixed end, the energy by elastic deformation is stored much and the spring constant with respect to the 6th rolling member 10 or the 7th rolling member 11 in its displacement is made sufficiently lower. Then the sensitivity to the change in the pressing force with respect to the mount error to the 6th and 7th rolling members 10, 11 and the leaf spring 12 with respect to the optical head in terms of mount error or the sensitivity in the change in the pressing force with respect to the deflection of the leaf spring 12 are set lower. Thus, the apparent rolling contact friction change with respect to the change in the surface state of a 1st guide shaft 3 or a 2nd guide shaft 4 is reduced sufficiently and the proper pressing force is obtained without giving any special accuracy or adjusting mechanism with respect to the mounting mechanism.
