Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a developer from leaking out and scattering by providing a magnetic member which faces a sleeve and is positioned in the magnetic field of a magnet where the sleeve returns to a developer supply area in a hopper after development. CONSTITUTION:A conveyance magnetic pole S2 is on the upstream side of a magnetic pole S3 in the rotating direction of the sleeve and has the same polarity as that of the magnetic pole S3. Then, residual toner 6' is separated from the sleeve 2 with the magnetic field of the magnetic member 10 and magnetic pole S3 and a magnetic field curtain 12 is formed between the sleeve 2 and magnetic member 10 with the magnetic field of the magnetic member 10 and magnetic pole S3, so that this magnetic field curtain 12 prevents toner in the hopper 4 from moving round to behind the sleeve 2. Consequently, the toner from the toner hopper return opening of the sleeve is prevented effectively from leaking out and scattering.
