Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the hot workability of the titled steel having a specified compsn. by rolling the steel in a specified temp. range. CONSTITUTION:An austenitic stainless steel consisting of, by weight, <=0.1% C, <=1.0% Si, <=2.0% Mn, 7.0-25.0% Ni, 11.0-27.0% Cr, 0.5-5.0% B and the balance Fe or further contg. 1.0-3.0% Mo is cast and the cast steel is rolled in a temp. range of <700 deg.C. By this method, embrittlement due to grain boundary melting is prevented, satisfactory ductility in a temp. range to room temp. is ensured and the steel can be rolled without cracking.
