Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an automatic dimming function of simple constitution without spoiling the function and beauty of a window by providing a solar battery and a control means to part of a transmission plate body equipped with a dimming element. CONSTITUTION:The dimming transmission body 31 is so constituted that the integrated control means 36 which controls a way of feeding electricity from the solar battery 35 to the dimming element 34 and light-transmission conductive films 39 and 40 forming at least part of a conductor connecting the control circuit, dimming element, and solar battery are arranged on the same transmission plate body 32. Namely, the dimming transmission body 31 is so constituted as to form the dimming element 34, solar battery 35, and control means 36 on the same transmission plate body, so the supply of electric power for driving the dimming element and control over the driving of the dimming element need not be performed from outside the dimming transmission body, thereby eliminating the need for external wiring completely. Consequently, when this is used as window glass, its beauty is not spoiled and opening/closing operation is performed without any hindrance; and the electric power supplied according to the intensity of incident light is varied to obtain the automatic dimming function.
