Abstract

PURPOSE:To release a user from the registration of data in an electronic telephone directory and the control of them by automatically collecting data corresponding to a telephone number from a telephone directory data base and registering it into the electronic telephone directory if the number of times of the same telephone number inputted from the terminal becomes more than a prescribed threshold. CONSTITUTION:If a ten key 24 is operated and the telephone number is inputted, a table in a temporary storage memory part 21 is referred and a counter value for the number of used times of the coincident telephone number is added by '1' if the telephone number is coincident with a registered number. If it is unregistered, the telephone number is newly registered in the temporary storage memory part 21. If a real timer 236 starts a controller 23, the value for the number of the used times of respective telephone numbers registered in the temporary storage memory part 21 and the threshold are compared, and the telephone numbers more than the threshold are detected. Data on subscriber names, addresses, positions and the like are collected from the telephone directory data base 27 connected to a network 26 and are automatically registered in an electronic telephone directory memory part 22.
