Abstract

PURPOSE:To store a large quantity of slip images at a high speed by registering the images in a file after detecting the tilt of the image and rotating the image so that the image is corrected to a fixed position. CONSTITUTION:A scanner 3 scans not only a slip but its background. The input image received from the scanner 3 has a black background of the slip and is inputted to a picture memory of the scanner 3. An edge information detecting means searches image data stored in an image memory 6 and detects (10) the peripheral edge position information on the slip image data which is inputted to a black background as a while image. Based on said peripheral edge position information, the position coordinates of four corners of the slip image as well as the tilt value of the image are calculated at the inside of the input image. An image rotating device 12 rotates the input image on the memory 6 based on said tilt value and gives correction to the image. Then the black background of the slip image is changed (11) into white based on the position information on the slip image undergone the tile correction in the memory 6. Thus the input image is stored in a file.
