Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a terminal from coming off and from having a play by employing a lock mechanism as well as a flexible engage-stop arm between an insertion pin and an insulation housing. CONSTITUTION:When an insertion pin 8 is inserted into a through hole 6, a final lock piece 9 comes into contact with a lock portion 7 to deflect the lock portion 7 slightly downward and to cause a temporary lock piece 10 to engage with a hole edge of a terminal holding compartment 2 so that the pin 8 is temporarily locked. When a terminal 3 is then completely inserted and, after being engaged-stopped temporarily with engage-stop means 2a, 3a, the pin 8 is further pushed in, said final lock piece rides across the lock portion 7 and enters a space between the lock portion 7 and a bottom wall 12a of a recess 12, and the pin 8 is finally locked. At the final lock position, a flexible engage- stop arm 11 presses the terminal 3 against the inner wall of the terminal holding compartment 2 to prevent the terminal from coming off and from having a play.
