Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance of a metallic material and also to prevent the cracking of plating and the peeling of plating due to press forming, etc., by specifying Mn content in a Zn-Mn alloy plating and forming a plating layer into a vapor deposition plating layer in which three phases coexist. CONSTITUTION:Vapor deposition plating with Zn-Mn alloy consisting of 1-15wt.% Mn and the balance essentially Zn is applied to a metallic material. This vapor deposition plating layer necessarily contains soft eta-phase as well as hard epsilon-phase and gammaMN-phase. This plating layer in which three phases including eta-phase coexist has moderate hardness and workability as a whole and combines superior resistance to peeling of plating with corrosion resistance.
