Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture the title reaction tube for heat treatment easily without thermal deformation regardless of long time operation at high temperature by a method wherein a linear reinforcement member coated with quartz glass is closely wound in a spiral to be formed into a tubular form. CONSTITUTION:Linear Mo or W made reinforcement member 2 is drawn out inside a quartz glass made tube 1 and then heated by a heater such as a burner 4 etc., to be softened so that the wall thickness may be varied to coat the reinforcement member 2 with the quartz glass 3. The final wall thickness of the quartz glass is to be 3 mm. The reinforcement member 2 coated with a quartz glass tube in thickness of 3 mm is to be closely wound in spiral around the surface of a carbon made cylindrical mold 5. At this time, if the quartz glass tube 3 heated to be softened is brought into close contact with the reinforcement member 2, the quartz glass will be welded into a large diameter tubular body 6 so that the reinforcement member may be arranged in the tubular body 6 in spiral.
