Abstract

PURPOSE:To supply and process the coordinates of a significant part as the input information by detecting the operator's gaze moving on a screen, detecting the physiological exitement of the operator's cerebrum as a brain magnetic field change and then detecting the operator's will from the correlation of these detection results. CONSTITUTION:The light of a reference infrared ray source 21 is reflected by the operator's eyes and caught by a camera 22. The angle set when the reflected light arrives at the center of a sensor is sent to a gaze detector 24. The lens system of the camera 22 is switched in a fixed cycle between wide and narrow angles. Thus the visual point coordinates are grasped on a display screen. A helmet 34 is put on a user's head and the brain magnetic fields are measured by the SQUID elements 28-1-28-3 set the side and rear parts of the helmet 34. These measured magnetic fields are sent to a will decision processor 30 via a brain magnetic field detector 39. The processor 30 measures previously the trend of the brain magnetic field output when the user gazes at a significant part 2 of a display device 1. Then the operator's will is decided from comparison of the data on said measurement and the correlation with the visual point coordinates.
