Abstract
PURPOSE:To aim at the miniaturization and lightweightness of the device in the caption by using as driving means first shape memory alloys for driving the opening/closing movement of fingers and a second shape memory alloy for disengaging the fingers from a finger supporting member at a finger open position. CONSTITUTION:First shape memory alloys 21a, 21b for opening/closing fingers 15-18 memory a shape capable of holding a work 19 at a required temperature T1, and further, they memory a shape at another required temperature T2 where the fingers 15-18 dehold the work 19 and are moved to a predetermined open position. Meanwhile, a second shape memory alloy 24 for vertically moving a finger setting gear 12 memories a shape capable of engaging the fingers 15-18 with a finger supporting member 22 at the required temperature T1, and as well, it memories a shape capable of disengaging the fingers 15-18 from the finger supporting member 22 at the required temperature T2. And moreover, the first and second shape memory alloys 21a, 21b and 24 serve as driving sources for opening/closing and exchanging the fingers 15-18.
