Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the productivity and to reduce the equipment cost by giving a compression force to a rolled stock by curving the stock in its width direction and rolling the stock in the above state. CONSTITUTION:A 1st horizontal mill 1, a vertical mill 2 including a forming device 11, and a 2nd horizontal mill 3 are sequentially installed as a rolling facility. The forming device 11 is installed in the upstream side of the mill 3 and consists of a supporting rolls 5, a cylinder 6, a pressing roll 8. A draft of the mill 3 is set to be large and a speed of the mill 3 is set slower than that of the mills 1, 2 so as to give a curve to a rolled stock 4 through the cylinder 6 and roll 8 and the stock 4 is rolled. Hence, the stock 4 is prevented from buckling and the number of passes is reduced because strong draft rolling is performable. The productivity of products is improved and the equipment cost is reduced because the number of stands is reduced.
