Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a medium which is reduced in thickness, easily cleaned, and optically suitable by holding an information recording disk so that the entire information recording area is exposed to the outside. CONSTITUTION:The information recording disk 1 is placed on a half 11, and a fixed member 12 which is energized by a coil spring 13 as shown by an arrow X is rotated around a shaft 14 to press the peripheral part of the disk 1 against an abutting member 15, thereby clamping the disk by the members 12 and 15. Then a half 11 is combined to form a holding frame 20. The frame 20 is made thin at an A part and when the frame is inserted into a recording and reproducing device as shown by an arrow X, projections in the device are easily evaded. Consequently, the medium can be made thin and easily cleaned even if static electricity is generated and dust, etc., sticks.
