Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the operation such as the focusing of a treatment transducer, by providing a means for displaying the scanning direction of an imaging ultrasonic transducer to a housing and arranging various control switches on an applicator. CONSTITUTION:A film 5 is mounted to a housing 1 on the side of a living body and closely brought into contact with the living body corresponding to the unevenness thereof to irradiate the interior of the living body with ultrasonic energy. A treatment transducer 6 and an imaging transducer 7 are mounted in the housing 1. The imaging transducer 7 is one for obtaining the tomographic image of the living body along with a B-mode system and the scanning surface 8 of an ultrasonic wave is formed by a scanning circuit performing the convergency and deflection scanning of the ultrasonic wave and projected on a CRT as a tomographic image and the direction thereof is displayed on the scanning surface as shown by a numeral 9. By this method, a region to be treated can be simply matched with the converging point of an ultrasonic wave.
