Abstract

PURPOSE:To aim at the promotion of speediness and smoothness in selector actuation by installing a first hydraulic feed passage, leading to a hydraulic tappet, and a second hydraulic feed passage, leading to a connecting selector mechanism, both in a rocker shaft, and making a passage sectional area of the second hydraulic feed passage relatively larger. CONSTITUTION:A first hydraulic feed passage 38, leading to a hydraulic tappet T, and a second hydraulic feed passage 39, leading to each connecting selector mechanism of rocker arms 7-9, both are independently installed in a rocker shaft 6. A passage sectional area of the second hydraulic feed passage 39 is made relatively larger than that of the first hydraulic feed passage 38. With this constitution, height of hydraulic pressure in the second hydraulic feed passage is quickly transmitted to the connecting selector mechanism, so that selector actuation can be done speedily and smoothly.
