Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate load borne by laminate rubber by coupling a hollow cylindrical laminate rubber in series with a pneumatic spring, wherein the rubber is given an inner dia. equal to the effective dia. of pneumatic spring. CONSTITUTION:A pneumatic spring 10 is formed as an air chamber 17 consisting of a ring-shaped diaphragm 19 of flexible rubber fixed airtightly to a ring-shaped oversurface plate 12 and an inner cylinder 13. Laminate rubber 20 formed by alternately placed ring-shaped rubber members 21 and rigid members 22 is fixed as well to the oversurface plate 12 as a support plate 23 at the top, and a top plate 24 is placed with a seal interposed so as to form an air chamber 27. The inner dia. D1 of the laminate rubber 20 shall be the same as the effective dia. D0 of the pneumatic spring 10 when it is at a standstill. Accordingly major part of plumb load is borne by the compressive air encapsulated in the air chamber 30 to liberate the laminate rubber 20 substantially from the burden. Thus a small width suspension device with small spring constant in the horizontal direction is accomplished.
