Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce light emission energy of one time and to utilize an inexpensive illumination device by performing operation wherein many discharging lamps which are provided in parallel are turned on individually and separately plural times for each discharging lamp and fixing toner. CONSTITUTION:An AC voltage which is outputted by a commercial power source 1 is applied to a source voltage variation detecting and trigger phase timing determining circuit part 16 to output a reference trigger signal in each half cycle. A trigger voltage generation part 18 is turned on with the output signal of a CPU control part 17 based on said signal to apply a high voltage to a trigger wire 19, and discharging is started. Then trigger voltage generation parts 18 are prepared as many as discharging lamps in use and signals from the CPU control part 17 are switched to turn on the discharging lamps from 111 to 11n in order. Consequently, the one-time light emission energy of each discharging lamp is reduced and an inexpensive illumination device can be utilized for the discharging lamps.
