PURPOSE:To minimize optical lens aberration such as spherical aberration, etc., and to execute miniaturization and lightening in weight by using a hologram lens having an aspherical lens function and executing convergence irradiation onto a storage medium. CONSTITUTION:Luminous flux emitted from a laser diode 40 is made into parallel beams by a hologram lens 41 and the astigmatic difference in the diode 40 is removed. The parallel beams are converged by a hologram lens 42, the optical lens aberration such as spherical aberration, etc., are removed, the beam pass through a window glass 43 and irradiate a medium sensing material surface 45 in a spot-shape, and information is recorded and reproduced. The rear surface emitting luminous flux of the diode 40 is light-received by a photodetector 46 for monitoring and the control of a light output is executed. Thus, the aberration of an optical system is minimized and the device can be miniaturized and lightened in weight.
