Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve both the energy efficiency and long-term stability of a battery by using an organic solvent for chlorine absorbing solvent and arranging a heat exchanger made of tantalum or polytetrafluoroethylene in a chlorine absorbing tub. CONSTITUTION:An organic solvent is used as a chlorine absorbing solvent. A heat exchanger 7, 7' made of tantalum or polytetrafluroethylene is placed in a chlorine absorbing tub 3 to absorb chlorine. Using the organic solvent of a small specific heat like this, it is possible to increase the cooling efficiency of a cooler 6 and improve the energy efficiency of a battery. Further, tantalum or polytetrafluoroethylene is very stable against dry chlorine, wet chlorine, and electrolytic solution which is carried by only a small amount from an electric pole part to stand a long period of used.
