Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize the natural sound field feeling by providing a delay circuit which delays the right and left audio signals and an addition circuit which performs the addition between a right signal and a delayed left signal and between a left signal and a delayed right signal respectively. CONSTITUTION:A delay circuit 1 is equal to a data delay circuit consisting of a DRAM, etc., and delays the time by about 0.7ms equivalent to the distance between the right and left ears of a human being. An adder 2 adds a left audio signal L(t+ tmax) and a right audio signal R(t+ tmax) to the signals R(t) and L(t) respectively for synthesization of signals R(t)+L(t+ tmax) and L(t)+R (t+ tmax). These synthetic signals are inputted to a D/A converter and the output of this converter is used as a headphone signal. In such a way, a headphone sound field signal is synthesized while a digital signal is being processed. Thus it is possible to reduce the signal deterioration and to realize the natural sound field feeling through a headphone.
