Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the manufacturing process of a battery by combining a pair of negative plates to positive plates which have been cut, bent in the center and cured in advance to make a cluster of electrode plates, immediately followed by assembling into a battery, and cell forming, thereby making the curing of the negative plates unnecessary. CONSTITUTION:Separators 4 are attached to both sides of an expanded electrode plate 3 filled with a negative electrode paste and fixed with a thermoplastic resin. The material prepared as described above is combined to positive plates which have been cured in advance but not formed to constitute a battery immediately followed by cell forming. This makes it possible to handle the negative plate immediately after it is filled with the paste, simplify the manufacturing process of the battery by totally eliminating the curing process of the negative plate, and make the battery light-weight by making the electrode plates thin and light-weight.
