Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled ink composition containing an organic solvent, a cyanine dye and a specific resin and capable of indicating the sterilization degree of a canned drink, etc., by the change in color of the printed letter when printed to the lid or bottom of the can and heated in a heat-sterilization chamber. CONSTITUTION:The objective ink composition is composed of (A) an organic solvent (e.g. alcohols), (B) a cyanine dye (e.g. C.I. Basic Red 12) dissolved in the above organic solvent, (C) a resin having carboxyl group or phenolic hydroxyl group (e.g. rosin resin of phenolic resin) dissolved in the above organic solvent and preferably (D) an alkali metal salt (preferably lithium chloride or sodium acetate) dissolved in the above organic solvent.
