Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled polyester, having excellent melt moldability, heat resistance and mechanical physical properties and suitable as mechanical, automotive parts, etc., by molding into fibers, films, etc., by polycondensing plural recurring structural units in a specific proportion. CONSTITUTION:The aimed polyester, obtained by charging (A) 30-80mol.% compound to be structural units expressed by formula I (50-100mol.% of groups Ar1 are aromatic group expressed by formula II) (e.g. p-hydroxybenzoic acid), (B) 10-35mol.% compound to be structural units expressed by formula III, such as 4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl, and (C) 10-35mol.% compound expressed by formula IV (50-100mol.% of groups Ar2 are aromatic groups expressed by formula V) (e.g. 2,6-dicarboxynaphthalene) into a polymerization vessel and polycondensing the components at, e.g. 250-390 deg.C, and having preferably 250-380 deg.C flow temperature.
