Abstract

PURPOSE:To rapidly flocculate the suspended dust in waste washing water and to enlarge the diameter of the formed floc by using a combination of an inorg. flocculant and an org. flocculant in the flocculation stage as the flocculant. CONSTITUTION:The waste washing water from an electrostatic precipitator is introduced into a treating tank 25 from a waste water inlet pipe 28. In this case, an inorg. flocculant and an org. flocculant are respectively injected into the inlet pipe 28 from flocculant injection ports 29 and 30. The waste washing water mixed with the flocculants slowly circulates in the tank 25 in the direction as shown by the arrow Q from a flocculation part 26 toward a floating and separating part 27, the suspended dust in the waste washing water is flocculated at an extremely high temp. during circulation, and the diameter of the formed floc is enlarged. The water contg. dissolved air is introduced from its inlet pipe 33, and the enlarged flocs are floated and separated in the floating and separating part 27 at an extremely high rate. The flocs (solid component) thus floated onto the water surface are discharged from the water surface by a dust discharge mechanism 16.
