Abstract
PURPOSE:To keep an optical output constant extending over the whole range of an operating temperature by controlling driving currents for a laser diode LD by a temperature sensor, a memory circuit storing the information of dark currents to the temperature of a P-I-N photodiode and a subtracter. CONSTITUTION:The back beams of an LD 6 are detected by a P-I-N photodiode 5, and a detecting signal 101 is input to a subtracter 4. The components of the back beams of the LD 6 and the dark current compo nents of the P-I-N photodiode 5 are included in the detecting signal 101. A temperature sensor 2 detects the temperature of the P-I-N photodiode 5, and the detecting signal 102 is input to a memory circuit 3. The memory circuit 3 stores the information of dark currents to the temperature of the P-I-N photodiode 5, and outputs a control signal 103 corresponding to the detecting signal 102. The subtracter 4 subtracts the dark current components of the P-I-N photodiode 5 in the detecting signal 101 by the control signal 103, the back beam components of the LD 6 are only left, and an LD driver circuit 1 is controlled by a control signal 104. The LD driver circuit 1 can control LD driving currents only by the back beams of the LD 6.
