Abstract
PURPOSE:To prompt precipitation velocity of capsules in a process for producing encapsulated toner by forming an emulsion by using methyl cellulose as stabilizer for emulsion, then adding cellulolytic enzyme to the emulsion. CONSTITUTION:An emulsion is formed by using methyl cellulose as a stabilizer for the emulsion by which a material to be contained in the core of a capsule is dispersed in the form of fine drops, then cellulolytic enzyme is added to the emulsion. Methyl cellulose emulsifies and disperses a hydrophobic core material in aq. medium in the form of fine drops when microcapsules are produced in the aq. medium. After the formation of the emulsion, the methyl cellulose is decomposed to low mol.wt. materials by the effect of the enzyme and the viscosity of the emulsion is reduced by adding cellulolytic enzyme to the emulsion. By this method, precipitation velocity of capsules for natural or centrifugal precipitation is increased.
