Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate necessity of power consumption in a magnetostatic field coil at the time of nonphotographing and to form a magnetostatic field immediately necessary at the time of photographing by providing an adiabatic layer for interrupting heat dissipation from a coil between the coil for an MRI and the atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: A static magnetic field coil device 2 for an MRI has a magnetostatic field coil 3, and an adiabatic layer 4 is formed between the coil 3 and the atmosphere. A predetermined current is supplied from a power supply 1 to the coil 3, and the coil 3 forms a predetermined static magnetic field for the MRI. Coolant is circulated among a main section (e.g., water-cooled shunt resistor for detecting an output current, etc.) in the power supply 1, the coil 3 and a cooling unit 5 to suitably cool the main section and the coil 3. Here, the layer 4 in the device 2 has a function for interrupting heat dissipation from the coil 3, i.e., a function for thermally insulating the coil 3.
