Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the welding property as well as to increase the process yield rate by forming a hat-formed or a cylindrical sleeve out of a rhenium- molybdenium alloy including rhenium in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:A hat-formed or a cylindrical sleeve is formed of a rhenium- molybdenium alloy including rhenium at a ratio 5 to 55wt.%. As a result, the extending rate of the material is made higher in the sleeve forming process, and the anisotropy of the malleability is also reduced, resulting in an extensive improvement of the formation yield rate. Moreover, the welding property is also improved, and the connection of the sleeve to the fine metal wires to hold the cathode main body can be formed by an electric resistance welding without applying a laser welding.
