Abstract

PURPOSE: To operate a motor expansion valve surely at the time of restart by applying a maximum opening pulse signal before refrigerant begins to flow through a valve to the motor expansion valve during stoppage of a compressor and sustaining that state thereby sustaining a high pressure in liquid refrigerant piping during stoppage of the compressor. CONSTITUTION: During operation of a compressor 3, opening of a motor expansion valve 6 for controlling the flow rate of refrigerant is controlled to make constant heating of evaporator outlet depending on the operational conditions and SV1 is closed while SV2 is opened. When the compressor 3 is stopped, the motor expansion valve 6 makes a quick transition to closing operation and the opening thereof is sustained at a maximum opening before refrigerant begins to flow through the valve immediately before full closure and the solenoid valve SV2 is closed sustaining a high pressure in liquid refrigerant piping. The solenoid valve SV1 is opened and the pressure is balanced on the delivery and suction sides of the compressor thus stabilizing restart. After the compressor is restarted, the motor expansion valve is opened quickly up to a required opening by a valve open pulse from a controller and the SV1 is closed while the SV2 is opened thus stabilizing the refrigeration cycle quickly.
