Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify the construction work by a method in which bracing piles are penetrated into the ground in front of a retaining wall, stay piles piercing the retaining wall are penetrated into the natural ground and their basal ends are fixed to the bracing piles, and concrete is placed to the front of the retaining wall to surround the bracing piles.

Cement mortar is packed to the lower part of the piles 7 in parallel with the front of the retaining wall 2 to form a foot protection part 8. A pit is then drilled through the wall 2 in the natural ground 1 until its tip reaches the ground 6, and a stay pile 9 is penetrated into the pit and fixed with cement 10 placed. The pile 9 is fixed to the piles 7, reinforcing bars 12 are set in the front of the wall 2, and concrete is placed to make up a new wall 13. Economical effect can thus be obtained by such a small-scale construction work.
