Abstract

PURPOSE:To contrive a uniform recorded density, by setting an ion recording output to be higher at outside parts of an electrostatic recording head than at a central part of the head, with respect to the circumferential direction of a latent image support drum. CONSTITUTION:For example, ion leading-out controlling means 3 (C1, C2, C3, C4) and ion generating sources 2 (G1, G2, G3, G4) are disposed opposite to a latent image support drum 4, the means 3 being nearer to the drum 4 than the ion generating sources 2. Ion recording outputs from 16 dots formed are controlled by combinations of ON/OFF signals of the ion leading-out controlling means C1-C4 with ON/OFF signals of the ion generating sources G1-G4. DC voltages from DC power sources P2, P3 are applied to the ion generating sources G2, G3 located at central parts near the center of the drum, whereas voltages from DC power sources P1, P2 higher than those from the DC power sources P2, P3 are applied to the ion generating sources G1, G4 located on the tip part sides. With this construction, the charge density of a latent image formed on the drum 4 becomes distributed uniformly with respect to the circumferential direction of the drum 4.
