Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the image quality of printed matter by making the values of multivalue recording the same at the time of high speed printing without relying on atmospheric temp., by controlling the voltage of a printing power source on the basis of the result of a temp. detection part and also controlling a printing time by a printing control part to perform printing. CONSTITUTION:A printing control part 101 controls a printing time on the basis of the atmospheric temp. detected by a temp. detection part 103 and performs fine adjustment so that the relation between an input signal and expression density becomes constant without relying on the atmospheric temp. and also controls printing on the basis of the voltage of a printing power source 102 controlled on the basis of the atmospheric temp. detected by the temp. detection part 103 to perform printing by a printing mechanism 104. The temp. detection part 103 is constituted of a heat generating element and a standard resistor and divides standard voltage to apply feedback to an analogue/digital converter 302. This analogue voltage fed back is converted to a digital value and, on the basis of the relation between the temp. preliminarily measured and the digital value, a printing time is controlled by a control part 301 so as to make the relation between the input signal and expression density constant without relying on atmospheric temp. Herein, the resolving power of a voltage applying time is preset to 2-3 times a multivalue recording value.
