Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a vermin repellent containing a specific lactone compound such as 4-nonanolide, 4-undecanolide, 5-undecanolide, etc., as an active component and exhibiting excellent repelling effect against various vermin such as fly, mosquito, cockroach, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective vermin repellent contains the lactone compound of formula (R is 4-7C alkyl; R1 is H or CH3; n is 1 or 2) known as a perfumery component of coconut, apricot, peach, cream, whiskey, brandy, cognac, etc., as an active component. The repellent exhibits excellent repellent effect against various kinds of vermin, e.g. flies such as house fly, mosquitoes such as common gnat, cockroaches such as German cockroach, etc., compared with conventional vermin repellent. The amount of the above compound to be applied is 0.1-10g per 1m<2> of area to be applied or 0.005-0.1mg per 1g of a powdery carrier, etc., to be compounded.

の害虫忌避剤に比し、優れた忌避効力を有することを確
認し、本発明を完成するに至った。

化合物(2)と称する)、5−ウンデカノリド(以下化
合物(8)と称する)、8−メチル−4−オクタノリド
(以下化合物(4)と称する)、8−メチル−4−ノナ
ノリド(以下化合物(5)と称する)などがあげられる

リ・−や多孔質の素材にしみ込ませ徐々に気化させるこ
とも可能である。

吊し、アカイエカ成虫約800頭を放飼した。その後P
紙上に静止した虫数を5.10,15.20分後の4回
観察した。なおP紙上に静止した力はたたいてとばし、
ケージの位置を90°ずつ回転させた。4回の観察値を
平均し以下の式で忌避率を求めた。
