Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent blocking in recording or exfoliation of an ink layer in taping test from occurring, by providing the ink layer on a base film consisting of a polyester film, with an adhesive layer consisting of a copolymeric polyester resin provided therebetween. CONSTITUTION:An adhesive layer 3 is provided by applying a copolymeric polyester resin to a base film 1 consisting of a polyester film. Then, an ink layer forming solution 4 prepared by dissolving a dye and a binder in a solvent such as monochlorobenzene is applied to the adhesive layer 3. As a result, a mixture layer 5 of a dissolved part of the copolymeric polyester resin in the adhesive layer 3 and the ink layer forming solution 4 is provided, and upon drying by heating, a hardened mixture layer 7 and an ink layer 6 are provided on the adhesive layer 3, thereby an ink sheet 16 is completed. Both the adhesion between the base film 1 and the adhesive layer 3 and that between the adhesive layer 3 and the ink layer 6 can be enhanced. Accordingly, it is possible to obtain images with high recorded density and favorable uniformity, without possibility of exfoliation of the ink layer 6 in a taping test or of blocking in recording.

The conventional thermal transfer recording method generally uses the mechanism shown in FIG. The conventional ink sheet 14 used in this method has a heat-resistant protective layer 2, as shown in FIG. The ink layer 6 was applied to the upper surface of the base film 1 which was provided on the lower surface. By the way, since the polyester film used as the base film 1 lacks adhesiveness due to the number of bars, the adhesive force between the binder resin forming the ink layer 6 and the base film becomes weak, and the ink layer 6 is completely transferred to the recording paper 8 during recording. There is a problem in that so-called blocking is likely to occur. In addition, in a taping test in which adhesive tape was stretched over the 7 layers and the ink layer peeled off when the adhesive tape was removed, there was also a problem in that the ink layer 6 easily peeled off from the base film 1. .

As shown in FIG. 5, an article that solves these problems is such that an adhesive layer 12 containing fine particles 13 of alumina, silica, etc. is formed on the upper surface of the base film 1, and then an adhesive layer 12 is formed on the top surface of the base film 1. There is one in which an ink layer 6 is provided. According to this configuration, since the surface of the adhesive layer 12 is made uneven by the fine particles, the ink layer 6 is easily adhered, preventing blocking and providing an ink sheet that does not peel off even in a taping test.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, as shown in FIG. 6, the ink sheet 15 provided with such an adhesive layer 12 has a lower recording density than the ink sheet 14 without the adhesive layer 12 under the same conditions. Approximately 5
Not only does it decrease by ~10%, but also unevenness occurs in the recorded image. Further, there is a problem in that the coating device becomes complicated in order to prevent fine particles from settling during the adhesive layer coating process.

The reason why the recorded density decreases is that thermal energy is absorbed by fine particles such as alumina and silica, and the thermal energy transmitted to the ink layer decreases. Also, unevenness in recorded images occurs because fine particles This is because they tend to aggregate and are difficult to disperse and apply uniformly to an extent that does not affect the image.

The present invention eliminates the peeling of the ink layer due to blocking and taping tests that occur during recording, and also eliminates the 0 degree drop and unevenness of recorded images that occur due to the mixing of fine particles, and enables thermal transfer recording that enables high-quality recording. The purpose is to provide ink sheets.

Means for Solving the Problems In order to solve the above problems, the thermal transfer recording ink sheet of the present invention uses a polyester film as a base film, and an adhesive layer made of a di-copolymerized polyester resin is interposed on the base film. It is characterized in that an ink layer is provided.

By using a copolymerized polyester resin as the functional adhesive layer, the adhesive strength to the base film made of polyester film is improved. In addition, in the ink layer coating process, the surface of the adhesive layer is dissolved and roughened by a solvent such as monochlorobenzene that dissolves the dye and binder, and the copolyester resin of the adhesive layer and the ink layer forming liquid are mixed. Since a layer is formed, the adhesive strength between the ink layer and the adhesive layer is also improved.

As a result, the overall adhesion of the ink layer to the base film is greatly improved. Furthermore, since fine particles are not used as in the conventional method, a uniform adhesive layer can be easily formed.

When the resulting ink sheets were subjected to a CheePig test, it was confirmed that both ink sheets using copolymerized polyester resins with a softening point of 150°C and a softening point of 190°C exhibited high adhesive strength. Further, when both ink sheets were used for recording with the recording load shown in FIG. 2, both ran without blocking and a uniform image was obtained. Regarding the recording density, the softening point is 15
It is possible to obtain a somewhat higher degree of elasticity with a softening point of 190°C than with I/R-7 using a copolymerized polyester resin at 0°C, and the average value of these is as shown in Figure 2. Almost the same recording density as that of the sheet 14 without the sheet was obtained.

As described in detail, the thermal transfer recording sheet of the present invention can improve both the adhesive strength between the base film and the adhesive layer, and between the adhesive layer and the ink layer. This makes it possible to firmly establish an ink layer on the base film without mixing fine particles such as alumina or phosphoric acid into the adhesive layer as in the past, making it possible to prevent the ink layer from peeling off during recording. It is possible to obtain even, high-density images without printing.
