Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform recording on an ink sheet and to correct erroneous recording by stripping off the ink adhered to a material to be recorded in accordance with a correction information, by providing a control member for altering the route of the ink sheet reaching an ink sheet receiving part from an ink sheet supply part.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of a printing mode, a carrier speed for correctable printing is set (speed table on ROM) and a carrier is accelerated and subjected to an approach run (e.g., 18 characters/sec) and a thermal head is heated for a heating time (e.g., 1.1msec) by voltage and a current for correctable printing and, after printing, the thermal head is moved up to be allowed to overrun to finish processing. At the time of a correction mode, the carrier is set to a correction speed (e.g., 10 characters/sec) or correction is performed under a correction heating condition (e.g., 0.4msec sheet). In this case, the carrier is allowed to fall to a head-up start position in order to change a ribbon release position and allowed to run by a distance l to cool the ribbon and correction is performed. Then, the head is moved up to be allowed to overrun and returned by the moving distance to move the carrier so as to position an index 30a at the next printing position.
