Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily, quickly and safely perform a connecting operation by inserting a head of a male fitting into an opening of a female fitting consisting of an engaging piece which is usually closed by a spring, and expanding and opening the opening, and engaging the engaging piece with a engaging part of the male fitting by further insertion, and providing an engagement-releasing means.
CONSTITUTION: A fixture 2 to be connected to a wire rope is mounted to one end of a cylindrical fitting 4, whereas a bracket metal 6 which is gradually narrowed toward an insertion opening, is provided on the other end of the cylindrical fitting, and a spring bearing 8 and a release fitting 9, with a spring 10 held between them, are provided inside the bracket metal 6. Further, slide-blocks 11a, 11b, 11c prepared by dividing a cone-shaped fitting engaging the bracket metal 6 into three parts, are connected to the release fitting 9 by means of a link 12, and these blocks open and close the insertion opening by sliding themselves auxially. When the male fitting is inserted into the female fitting, a guide chain 26 is attached to a lifting tumbler, then the engagement of a stopper with the tumbler is released by further insertion of the male fitting, the guide chain 26 can be automatically removed. The connecting operation can therefore be easily, quickly and safely performed.
