Abstract

PURPOSE: To dissolve the inner layer of a balloon by gastric juice and to naturally excrete the outer layer thereof when the reduction effect of one's wt. is achieved and the balloon becomes unnecessary, by constituting the film for forming the balloon of the inner layer composed of an acid soluble film and the outer layer composed of an acid resistant film.
CONSTITUTION: The film used in the formation of a balloon main body 1 consists of an inner layer 3 and the outer layer 4 applied thereto. For example, the inner layer 3 is composed of a chitinic acid forming substance and easily dissolved by gastric juice and the thickness thereof is about 0.3mm. The outer layer 4 is composed of silicone for example and is a membrane having a thickness of 0.1mm or less and prevents the dissolution of the main body 1 by gastric juice. When the balloon stayed in the stomach becomes unnecessary since reduction effect of one's wt. is achieved, the outer layer and the inner layer 3 are broken through by a heat probe heatable to high temp. to form a plurality of holes. Whereupon, gastric juice is penetrated in the bag like body 5 of the main body 1 from the holes to dissolve the inner layer 3 and the air in the bag like body 5 is discharged and only the solid of the outer layer 4 composed of the shrunk membrane remains. Since this solid is small, it can be naturally excreted out of the body without any hindrance by the peristalsis of an alimentary system and a special recovery means becomes unnecessary.
