Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure power supply control for a peripheral device without being affected by the arranging distance between a central processing unit and the peripheral device by providing a photodetection section detecting an emitted light from an optical transmission optical cable of the central processing unit on the peripheral device.
CONSTITUTION: An optical detection section 2-1 is provided on the peripheral device and an OR circuit 1-10 receiving an output of the photodetection section 2-1 is provided on the power supply controller 1. Then a control signal interrupting/closing power supply is sent from the central processing unit in terms of light via a channel device 4, then an photoelectric conversion section 2-10 of the peripheral device 2 converts the optical signal into an electric signal and gives the result to an optical signal detection circuit 2-11. The detection circuit 2-11 discriminates whether this signal is a power supply closing signal or a power supply interruption signal and outputs logic 1, 0 depending on the closing/interrupting signal. Thus, an FF circuit 1-4 is set/reset to connect/ disconnect the power supply of the peripheral device 2.
