Abstract

PURPOSE: To judge the replacing time of a cutting blade adequately and to enhance the cutting reliability of lead products, by providing a monitoring mechanism of a load, which is applied on the cutting blade at the cutting point of the lead.
CONSTITUTION: A lead 3 is split and machined in the independent state by the movement of a cutting blade 7 in a cutting apparatus 1. A load monitoring mechanism detects a load, which is applied on a cutting blade 7 at the cutting point of the lead 3 in the apparatus 1. Said load monitoring mechanism is a pressure sensor 18, which detects oil pressure supplied from, e.g., a hydraulic cylinder 10. Since the load at the cutting point of the load at the actual time can be recognized, the degree of abrasion of the cutting blade can be found without stopping the cutting work. Therefore the replacing time of the cutting blade can be adequately judged, and the cutting reliability of the lead products can be enhanced.
