Abstract

PURPOSE: To contrive the miniaturization of a computer and to save the installation space by a MODEM added to a terminal equipment by incorporation a MODEM converting an optical signal and an electric signal into a wiring apparatus main body arranged to an optical fiber trailer section on a wall face or a floor.
CONSTITUTION: An optical fiber 1 is wired in a loop in a building. Optical receptacles 2 being wiring apparatus main bodies by an optional number are installed to a drawing part of the optical fiber on a wall face or floor in important positions in the building. The optical fiber 1 and one face of the optical receptacle 2 are connected freely attachably and detachably by an optical plug 5. The other face of the optical receptacle 2 is connected by a D sub-connector (plug) 7a from a centeral unit or a terminal equipment 6 freely attachably and detachably. The optical receptacle 2 incorporates a MODEM converting an optical signal into an electric signal or an electric signal into an optical signal conversely. The MODEM consists of a transmission/reception section 37 transmitting/receiving an optical signal and converting the optical signal and electric signal, and an interface 38 converting the electric signal from the section 37 into serial/parallel binary data and transferring them.
