Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve an SN ratio by setting the distance between a sensor and a roller to 40mm when the transformation rate of steel is measured on a roller table for conveyance by a transformation rate sensor which uses an excitation coil and a detection coil.
CONSTITUTION: The transformation rate sensor 4 is arranged between rollers 2a at optional positions on the roller table 2 which cools a finished rolled steel plate S continuously. At this time, the gaps (g) between the transformation rate sensor 4 and rollers 2a at both its positions are set to at least 40mm. Consequently, the influence of the magnetization of the rollers 2a is eliminated and the SN ratio can be improved.
