Abstract

PURPOSE: To continuously operate for a long period by connecting plural steam trapping devices in parallel, changing over the steam trapping device when the flow passage is clogged with ice, and melting the ice with heating medium to remove it.
CONSTITUTION: Steam trapping device A, B are connected in parallel. When the steam trapping device A is put in operation, valves 6a, 7a are opened and valves 6b, 7b are closed. When a conduit 1a in the device A is clogged with ice, the valves 6a, 7a are closed and the valves 6b, 7b are opened to put the steam trapping device B into operation, while the heating medium, such as hot water, is introduced from a refrigerant inlet port 4a instead of the refrigerant for the device A to melt the ice in the conduit 1a, and, after the water generated by melting the ice has been removed from an ice removing and evacuating port 8a, the inside of the conduit 1a is evacuated to be prepared for the next operation. As for the device B, the same operation is carried out, and these operations are repeated.
